The first blog, known as an online diary, was established in 1994 by a college student, Justin Hall. The archives on his site go back to 1996, so here is one of his oldest available posts.
In 1997, the term "weblog" was developed by Jorn Barger. The first blogging platform, Open Diary, was created in 1998.
